Red City [London, Photography Course Project]

During my semester in London I was enrolled in a course on the basics of photography. It wasn't a very technical or difficult course. In fact, it largely catered to the fact that a hundred twenty year olds were spending four months in London and didn't want to spend those four months in class.

Because of this, the only real assignment in class was a portfolio we turned in at the end of the four months. Our only guidelines were as follows: 1) It needs to have a theme 2) It needs to be in the city

It wasn't easy deciding what to focus on!

I considered a series on phone booths...

Then got arty and considered a series on passengers of the bus...

But quickly realized those were no good!

Then I thought of a series that took a fresh look at tourist attractions....

Nothing seemed quite right, though, and in the end I decided to put together a collection on my London, my "Red City".

And I thought it would be fun to show you it. This is my full collection, before I cut down to the final nine I used in my submission. I hope you enjoy!

I hope you got a little sense of what this incredible city meant to me in my four months there.

London - you'll be missed.
