End of Summer Favorites Haul

Spring cleaning came a little late for me this year. With everything going on, I didn't have a chance to clean out my closet until the boxes were packed and shipped home.

Once here, I ripped them open and dug through my piles and piles of clothes, shoes, and makeup to get rid of anything old, ugly, poorly fitted, or expired. By the end, the trash and donate piles were nearly as big as my pile of stuff to keep!

After the stockpile was purged, I got wrapped up in traveling, birthday celebrations, and a few too many shopping trips that helped me gradually refill the new gaps in my wardrobe and makeup drawer.

I thought I'd share a few of my favorite finds so far.

First off, Urban Decay Chill Makeup Setting Spray.

I picked this stuff up after borrowing my friend's UD All-Nighter Setting Spray. I loved the extra moisture boost and it did wonders setting my makeup.

I've also been using Stila's Stay All Day foundation since the Hello Flawless one has proved a bit orange on me. I like it for the most part, but it has a tendency to dry my skin out, so I turned to the Chill spray for a boost of moisture and it's really made a difference.

This new Smashbox Studio Skin is another one I'm testing out, and love the formula so far.

I also have gone back to an old favorite, Estee Lauder's Sumptuous Extreme for mascara. I had been loyal to Benefit's Roller Lash until recently, because it made my lashes a bit gloopy. I tried a fresh bottle in case mine had just gotten a bit old, but I didn't have better luck with it so I decided to make the switch.

I'm loving the way it separates my lashes and makes them longer.

You don't get the darkness or boldness that you get with Benefit's, but since I wear such little makeup I find the natural look works better. Benefit is still an old go to when I want the drama.

Other newbies I've been testing and liked so far are YSL's The Shock and Pacifica's Aquarian Gaze Mascara.

I'm also loving Glossier's Boy Brow. I wasn't sure about picking up this cult-hit, but it lives up to the hype. I'd been using Benefit's Goof Proof Brow Pencil (which I liked!), but found I would still need to touch up my brows with wax or brown mascara to hold them in place.

Boy Brow is a perfect alternative for lazy days where I just want to touch up my brows and keep them in place, though I still turn to the Goof Proof Pencil when I need to fill in gaps or reshape.

I've also come to love Pixi's Glow Mud Cleanser

And Klorane's dry shampoo - I still love Batiste for their drugstore price, but Klorane leaves a lot less residue in your hair.

As far as fashion goes, I received a few of great gifts for my birthday. My mother picked out these Stuart Weitzman sandals. They're easy, comfortable, and such a cute update from a regular sandal.

A few days later, I dropped into Nordstrom and picked up this Glint clutch

A playful alternative to a normal bag and something that seems fitting for an evening or afternoon out. It's a really lovely textured straw in the most gorgeous blues.

I also grabbed these matching Sojos glasses - SO cheap off Amazon, and so cute! Get them here.

I wore the black ones while in NYC and the rose gold ones all through our trip to the Bahamas. I love the understated trendiness of them, as well as the budget-friendly price tag.

That's about it for fashion, but I did pick up a few other lovely things over the last few weeks.

I'm loving this print by a local artist (whose name I can't remember because I threw away the bag!) who I met at her booth in a Portland market.

I also scooped up these Blue Q socks from a cute shop outside Seattle.

Exactly the mantra I want to wear every day!

Lot's of beautiful finds over many wonderful days. I would have included the baskets of books I've accumulated the last few weeks, but I figured I should give a few of them a read and lay out my thoughts for you another time.

In the meantime, I hope you loved some of these goodies and want to run out and grab them for yourself!

One of my favorite things in the world is finding something I love from a friend's recommendation (don't get me started on the number of matching shoes my best friend and I have), so I hope I passed on something good to you.
