About Me

I guess if I were in your shoes I'd be curious about whose life I was reading about, so let me give you the lowdown on me.

The Author

I'm a sunshine & rainstorms loving twenty-something, from sunny south Florida. I've just wrapped up my last year of college and can currently be found piecing together the bits of my life to determine my future. In the midst of this I'm blogging, and trying really hard to live up to our freshman motto 'living the dream'!

I've got a serious soft spot for anything to do with horses, pups, people, or books. I got my very own fur baby, Luna, last fall and have been loving life with her by my side. I recently moved back home and have loved having my childhood horse just a few steps from the house! In other good news, my bookshelves are stacked with unread stories and my heart is eager to rekindle old relationships, so it's shaping up to be a pretty good year.

I've also been traveling relentlessly as of late (and avidly for the past decade), so I've explored many of the nooks and crannies of this world - though by no means have I seen it all! This wandering of mine these past several years means that pieces of my heart will forever be scattered around the globe. I have lost and found parts of myself in Galway and Berlin and Jerusalem and Villefranche and Green Turtle.

If you have any questions about these joys of mine, or just want to stop by to say hi, feel free to write me a little email or drop me a comment on social media. You can find those links on the "Connect" page.

I'm also always open to new travel suggestions. Give me the what and the where and I'll be there as soon as I can!

The Blog

If you Google the word "farouche" a slew of definitions will pop up. Answers range from 'sullen' to 'shy' to 'wild' to 'outrageous'.

I think it is in that, in the range of meaning, that I came to find farouche so relatable. The word holds old roots in Latin and French. It's meaning is layered and complex. It's beautiful phonetics let it roll off your tongue.

Foxes are among my favorite animals. Small, spry, and cunning they are everything I would want to be as an animal. They are beautiful and playful and clever, and The Fox and the Hound was my favorite movie as a child, so that doesn't hurt either.

Between the two concepts this name formed pretty naturally. I wanted something that represented me and my interests, but had a nice ring to it.

Content will hopefully trace that line. I want to post things that you want to read. I want to post things that I love to write. Hopefully that balance will be struck and something great will happen.

You mean everything to me when you read my words.

Thank you so much for dropping by!
